Officeworks has announced a deal with Fastway couriers to sell parcel labels as well as provide a pickup location for Fastway parcels that cannot be delivered because people are not home.  Officeworks is aiming to compete with Australia Post with no long queues. How many of us have queued up to send a parcel that may involve a large postage fee (e.g. $70 for an express courier international) while waiting in a queue for people to pay their bills (that they could easily pay on the internet) that generates tiny revenues to Australia Post and to the Post Office itself.

Fastway joining up with Officeworks beefs up yet another competitor to Australia Post. With Toll recently being purchased by Japan Post,  and Fedex taking over TNT.  Australia Post needs to lift its game, but at the moment it looks like its parcel delivery services are getting worse.
